Dixie Turns 4!

She was hanging out with me while I got ready and she put a little too much of my cover-up on.
Later, she and Ruby were watching a show in the basement and Ruby fell asleep on Dixie's leg.  Dixie was pleased as punch that Ruby was snuggling up to her.
We started the morning off right with streamers. cinnamon rolls, eggs and bacon and some presents!

4 candles for this big girl!

Carson's Thanksgiving class party was that morning so I took Dixie with me.  She loved standing in link with him and he even held her hand and told all his friends that it was his little sister's birthday.
Then we went to the park to take some pretty pictures of the girls.  I just loved this one because it is her to a tee.  She's energetic, always in motion, going somewhere, doing something or getting into something, all while being a beautiful girl who loves pretty nails, pretty hair, and fancy dresses.
After the pictures at the park Daddy and I thought it would be fun to go out for lunch so we went to Olive Garden (sooooo yummy)!
The day after her birthday she went for her check-up!

Oh this Dixie girl!  4 years old sounds way too old.  I can't believe it's been 4 years ago that she surprised us by showing up in my tummy and coming on Thanksgiving day.  She's still full of surprises and loves being a jokester.  She has a very strong-will, which makes it hard for her to learn to compromise and be a peace-maker.  But then on the flip side she is very nurturing and loves to care for Ruby.  Her favorite thing is playing with Carson.  She is always asking to play with him and is absolutely heartbroken if he want to play by himself instead.  She'll play anything with him, too: ninjas, star wars legos, light saber wars, wrestling, you name it.  As long as her big brother is playing with her she's on cloud 9!
She is super smart, too.  It is so fun watching her read, because it just comes naturally to her.  She seriously reads complete sentences smoothly and reads new words as if she's seen them a hundred times before.  She is sailing through her Bob Books and even starting to read from the Book of Mormon.  The other night she read a verse and read "wilderness", "journey" and "voice" as if it wasn't even hard.  Crazy!  We're pretty excited to see what her Kindergarten teacher thinks in a couple of years.
I always tease her about how she needs to stop growing so fast and stay my little girl forever.  She always reminds me that she has to grow up, but then she adds that she'll always be my baby and that we'll always be friends. :)  I can't ask for more than that.
Happy Birthday Dixie Anne!
