Celebrating Carson

I made this simple cake just from yummy brownies.

He loved it (after the candle flame was blown out)
Then we got to open lots of presents! (He loved them and we loved that they were all hand-me-downs from my sister)

Even Mima and Pawpaw got to be there with us via Skype.

"Hamburgers" made from cupcakes, brownies and frosting--delish!

The fries were cut from sugar cookies.

The balloons were hung from the ceiling and the place settings were set upside down.

The cake was actually made from meatloaf--it was a great trick on the kids.

People dressed backwards--left up to their own disgression.

My parents were the funniest (my dad dressed as my mom) haha

A great time was had by all!

To celebrate Carson's very first birthday we got to have two parties! The first one was on his actual birthday just with us and my parents and Benji's parents on Skype. We went to eat at Chuck-a-Rama (a personal favorite) then came back to the house for yummy brownies and exciting presents. The second party was the following weekend with all his cousins on my side. I made it a "backwards" themed party based on one my friend did last year. It was so much fun and the kids were totally fooled by the meatloaf cake at first. I think everyone had a blast!
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY BUDDY!
