What a fun weekend!

Here's Benj taking the old brake pads off. What a good-lookin' mechanic, eh!

I decided that I wanted to be involved and learn how to do it myself, so I pitched in (and smeared some grease on my face :).

I ended up putting on the right brake pads and the tires!

We had a great four-day weekend. Saturday, we woke up late and went to exercise at Mike and Cindee's. My brakes have been sqeeling lately so after exercising we went to Danny's and checked the brake pads on the front tires. They were pretty low, so Benji taught me how to change them and replace the tires! It felt awesome to be able to do something like that for myself. After we cleaned up, we went to dinner and then for a swim with our friends, Marcus and Jen Wilson. Sunday, we got asked to speak at church. We finished reading The Taming of the Shrew and then visited with Mike and Cindee for a while. It was fun to talk with them without any interruptions. Then we spent the rest of the evening hanging out with Danny's family. Monday, we slept in and then spent the first part of the day at Blue Bayou water park. It was so much fun to just hang out together! After that we washed my car, ate dinner and watched the movie Cars. There's no one I love hanging out with more than Benji! It was a wonderful weekend together.

Dan wanted me to say that when he changed our brake pads, that I didn't care about helping and what a great wife you are :)

Your auto maintenance is terrific! In our Webelos den this Wednesday we are having a Bike Maintenance/Repair Clinic as part of the Handyman Activity Badge. All the boys bring their bikes. We check out the conditon of the chains (tension & lube), tires (inflation & fix flats). We adjust seats & handlebars and evaluate for good reflectors, and bells and lights mounted on the handlebars.

Let's have a Car Maintenance/Repair Clinic when you two get back. You can be our visiting experts. We have had scientists, engineers, surveyors and artists visit and teach in our den. You will continue our tradition of excellence and help prepare the upcoming generation. The boys can all bring their family cars or we could just work on Dad's Outback and my Sienna. What a blast! We always have refreshments after. THis is an offer you cannot refuse.
